Position Details:
- Title: Security Officer (x6)
- Contract Duration: 3 years
- Location: SANPC Refinery, Durban
- Closing Date: 6th December 2024
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Grade 12 Certificate
Certifications:
- Security Officer Certification (Grade B) + PSIRA registration
- Grade A certification (advantageous)
Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Valid driver’s license
- First Aid Level 1 certification (preferred)
- Safety or Emergency Response Training (desirable)
- 2–3 years of experience in security roles within refineries, manufacturing plants, or mining environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine patrols to detect signs of intrusion and ensure premises safety.
- Investigate disturbances and respond to alarms promptly.
- Enforce regulations, addressing violations as needed.
- Operate and monitor security systems to prevent unauthorized access.
- Inspect security equipment for tampering or malfunction.
- Control access for employees and visitors, ensuring compliance with Covid-19 protocols.
- Document daily activities and report any irregularities.
- Provide backup receptionist support when required.
Additional Requirements:
- Candidates must undergo personnel suitability checks (criminal, financial, and employment history).
- Applicants with foreign qualifications must provide South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) evaluations.
