The South African National Parks (SANParks) is offering an incredible opportunity to work in the iconic Kruger National Park as a Field Guard Monitor. This six-month fixed-term contract is perfect for individuals who are physically fit, dedicated, and eager to contribute to wildlife conservation efforts.
Position Details
- Job Title: Field Guard Monitor (7 Positions)
- Location: Kruger National Park
- Contract Type: Six-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Grade 12 certificate.
Firearm Competency:
- Certification for Manual Loading/Bolt Action firearms (Unit standards 117705, 119651, 123519).
- Valid Regulation 79 or 21 for bolt action/manual firearms.
- No criminal record (SAPS Clearance certificate required).
Experience:
- Completion of a Basic Field Ranger course.
Health and Fitness:
- Medical Certificate of Fitness required.
- Physically fit and able to endure extended patrols in challenging conditions.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Basic understanding of Field Ranger duties.
- Familiarity with Health & Safety principles (minimum Level 1).
- Practical experience in conservation-related tasks is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Protecting contractors and maintenance teams while on duty.
- Enforcing laws and regulations in accordance with the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA).
- Keeping accurate records of incidents and wildlife sightings.
- Conducting routine patrols on foot or by vehicle.
- Assisting in conservation-related activities.
