Introduction
AFGRI, a market leader in agricultural services across South Africa, invites passionate and career-minded youth to apply for its flagship Apprenticeship Programme 2025. This unique, structured initiative is tailored for recent matriculants with a flair for mechanics and a deep interest in agricultural and construction machinery.

The programme aims to address youth unemployment and skills development through a hands-on pathway to a National Trade Qualification in either Tractor Mechanics or Earthmoving Equipment Maintenance. Backed by classroom instruction, supplier training, and on-the-job exposure, this opportunity is your gateway to a solid, long-term career in South Africa’s growing mechanical and agricultural services sector.

Job Description
The AFGRI Apprenticeship Programme runs over a period of three years, beginning with a six-month probation to ensure a good match between employer and apprentice. Once confirmed, the apprentice signs a formal agreement that kicks off the full training cycle.

Key components of the programme include:

  • Practical Training at AFGRI’s Technical Training Institutes
  • On-the-job learning with experienced technicians in workshops and field environments
  • N-Course support through distance learning (if applicable)
  • Technical product training from major global brands like John Deere
  • Internal skills development sessions from AFGRI and specialist trainers

All training costs are fully covered by AFGRI—provided the apprentice passes the module. Should any module be failed, retakes are at the apprentice’s own cost and time. Upon completion, apprentices are contractually obligated to work back the equivalent duration of their training. Withdrawal before completion will result in recovery of training costs.
