Job Description
As a Cash Processing Officer, your primary responsibility is to ensure that cash is received, verified, sorted, counted, and reconciled accurately and efficiently within a highly secure environment. You will support various cash streams, including ATM replenishments, payroll preparations, and deposit processing on behalf of major banks and retailers.
The position involves:
- Receiving sealed bags/containers of cash and updating information on the cash management system
- Checking and acknowledging deposits and prepping them for processing
- Performing note sorting and reconciliation, including identifying counterfeit or mutilated notes
- Preparing floats, packing payroll bags, and managing cash for treasury and ATM operations
- Ensuring accurate end-of-day balancing and documentation
- Escalating discrepancies to team leaders or controllers
- Operating machinery, resolving jams, and maintaining workstations
- Following SOPs for security, compliance, and quality management

Role Responsibility
Cash Processing Officers will be responsible for executing a wide range of cash-handling tasks, including:
Receive Cash
- Acknowledge and verify incoming deposits using company systems
- Ensure all packages are intact and report anomalies immediately
- Handle all transactions securely and in compliance with SOPs
Prepare Cash for Processing
- Inspect containers for tampering
- Process deposits according to the SLA of each banking client
- Prep the workstation for efficient and safe note counting
Note Sorting
- Sort notes for processing or deposit return (FDP/ACDP)
- Use cameras and deposit boards to document bundles
- Identify and set aside counterfeit or damaged notes
- Complete daily production and reconciliation sheets
ACDP Reconciliation
- Manually verify rejected notes
- Perform transfers to vaults as needed
- Report shortages or surpluses according to policy
Desktop Deposit Processing
- Separate and balance all deposits by customer
- Perform accurate data capture and update on all systems
- Ensure end-of-day reconciliation is completed
Coin Processing
- Count, bag, and balance coins by denomination and client
- Operate and clear jams on coin sorting machines
- Balance coin bins and submit variances to Team Controller
System Integrated Processing
- Validate transactions integrated with banking systems
- Escalate mismatches or delays in deposits
- Ensure accurate linkage between deposits and bank accounts
Payroll and Change Prep
- Pack payroll floats and ensure correct denominations
- Process payroll entries within client SLA timeframes
- Obtain approvals and authorizations as per procedure
Prepack & Treasury
- Pack bank and ATM cash precisely
- Manage consumables such as seals and bags
- Record and verify all bag and seal numbers
Equipment Handling
- Clean and maintain machines before and after each shift
- Report breakdowns or performance issues
Governance & Compliance
- Follow ISO 9001:2015 quality standards
- Support environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives
- Maintain full audit trails and process visibility
Organisational Culture
