Job Description
The Driver Debriefer plays a key role in daily delivery logistics. This individual is responsible for checking completed trip sheets, identifying delivery anomalies, ensuring proper handling of Proof of Delivery (POD) documents, and facilitating clear communication between drivers and management. The role supports real-time reporting and helps maintain operational efficiency and accuracy.
Role Responsibility
Operational Duties
- Conduct full driver debriefings at the end of each delivery run
- Cross-reference trip sheets against tracking data for unscheduled or unexplained stops
- Securely receive vehicle keys upon return
- Review POD documentation for discrepancies such as shortages or misdeliveries
- Perform allocations in Trackmatic (route planning and monitoring tool)
- Handle Trackmatic system debriefing to log delivery feedback and route data
- Manage handheld devices used by drivers during delivery execution
Administrative Tasks
- Prepare next-day delivery paperwork in advance
- Assign routes and collections based on delivery schedules
- Allocate appropriate seals to vehicles in line with seal-to-seal protocols
- Ensure documentation is filed and accessible for audit or internal review
Customer Service
- Ensure that debriefing standards meet customer service expectations
- Promote strong driver relationships and clear, respectful communication
- Address POD concerns or missing documents promptly to avoid delivery disputes

Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 certificate
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and tracking platforms
- Must be comfortable working with forms, logs, and debrief documentation
- Experience using Trackmatic or other route-tracking software (advantageous)
- Familiarity with logistics workflows and seal-to-seal delivery procedures
- Sound understanding of local road networks and delivery zones
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to escalate issues effectively
