Role Responsibility
As a Dispensary Support Learner, you will contribute to daily dispensary operations under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the sale of Schedule 1 medicines
- Assisting with compounding and preparation of non-sterile medication
- Receiving and unpacking OTC and dispensary stock
- Ensuring compliance with SAPC guidelines when handling prescriptions
- Performing routine tasks such as:
- Picking and packing medication
- Script filing and tracking
- Stock control and expiry checks
- Prescription labelling
- Answering patient queries and making follow-up calls
- Managing scheme authorisations (HIV, chronic, oncology, etc.)
- Ensuring cleanliness and SOP adherence in the dispensary
