BOC is seeking to hire 5 entry-level Train Conductors to join its professional and service-oriented rail operations team. Job Description:
The Train Conductor role is central to ensuring that rail services run safely, efficiently, and in line with operational protocols. Conductors will collaborate with train drivers, interact directly with passengers, and perform routine operational and safety-related functions on board.
The role includes managing ticket checks, passenger security, and responding to customer queries, with strict adherence to safety standards and procedures.

Role Responsibility:
- Ensure safe and efficient train operations in accordance with safety rules and operational procedures
- Assist train drivers in safety and technical operations where needed
- Respond to passenger queries and provide accurate information on services, schedules, or delays
- Monitor passenger security throughout the train journey
- Conduct ticket checks and validate travel documents onboard
- Provide assistance during emergencies, delays, or special circumstances
- Report any irregularities, incidents, or safety concerns to supervisors
- Participate in incident investigations as required
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the operations controller

Qualifications:
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate (Essential)
- Valid South African driver’s license
- Fluency in English (spoken and written)
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ working experience in any professional capacity
- Previous work in customer-facing roles or transport/logistics sectors will be advantageous
Additional Requirements:
- Must be willing to undergo psychometric testing and full medical evaluations as part of the recruitment process
- Must adhere strictly to train safety protocols and national transport regulations
