Purpose of the Programme

The Metro Police and Traffic Learnership is designed to develop competent, dedicated, and fully trained law enforcement professionals.
By completing this programme, learners will graduate with the following qualifications:

  • Further Education and Training Certificate: Road Traffic Law Enforcement
  • Law Enforcement Skills Programme SP4/2012

Minimum Requirements / Eligibility

To apply, you must:

  • Be a South African Citizen and permanent resident of Cape Town
  • Be 18–34 years old
  • Hold a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
  • Be unemployed at the time of commencing training (7 January 2026)
  • Have no criminal record or pending cases
  • Be medically and physically fit
  • Proficient in English and one other official language
  • Hold a valid Code B manual driver’s licence
  • Have no visible tattoos while in uniform
