Job Description
The Nedbank YES Programme offers young, unemployed South Africans an entry point into the banking and financial services sector through structured, high-quality work experience. This 12-month work placement provides participants with the tools they need to enhance their skills, gain professional workplace exposure, and increase their chances of long-term employment.
Participants will work across various Nedbank branches, offices, and divisions, gaining valuable experience in customer service, administration, financial services, IT, and other support roles. The programme runs for 12 months, beginning on 1 June 2025, and includes a monthly stipend to assist participants with living expenses.
The Nedbank YES Programme is not a learnership, internship, or apprenticeship but rather a skills development and workplace experience programme, aimed at empowering South Africa’s youth.

Who Can Apply?
Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Be a South African citizen, born African, Coloured, or Indian in line with the BBBEE Act definition of black people
- Be between 18 and 29 years old
- Have completed matric (Grade 12)
- Be currently unemployed
- Have not participated in a YES Programme with another organisation before
- Be willing to commit to a 12-month, full-time work experience placement
- Be able to travel to and from the workplace daily, with some roles requiring flexible working hours (including weekends and public holidays)
- Reside within reasonable proximity to a Nedbank branch or office
Role Responsibility
As part of the Nedbank YES Programme, participants will be responsible for:
- Participating actively in on-the-job training and learning opportunities
- Delivering excellent customer service in line with Nedbank’s values and standards
- Completing assigned tasks in various departments, such as administration, client support, teller services, and call center operations
- Assisting with day-to-day operational tasks, including data entry, filing, and documentation management
- Supporting teams with projects, research, and administrative duties
- Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Adhering to Nedbank’s policies and procedures
- Demonstrating punctuality, reliability, and responsibility in all assigned roles
