Job Description
The purpose of the Engineering Learnership Programme is to equip participants with the technical skills and practical experience required to become qualified artisans in the mining sector. Successful applicants will be trained in one of the following disciplines:
- Boilermaker
- Fitter
- Auto Electrician
- Electrician
- Diesel Mechanic
- Instrument Mechanician
The programme includes both theoretical training and structured on-the-job experience. Upon successful completion, candidates will be eligible to write their trade test and qualify as artisans.
Ideal Candidate
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy) and Physical Science, each with a minimum symbol E (40%)
- OR a minimum N2 Certificate with 4 relevant trade-related subjects

Role Responsibility
As a learner artisan, your responsibilities will include:
- Participating in all prescribed learning and practical modules
- Adhering to safety and operational protocols
- Reporting equipment faults and adhering to maintenance schedules
- Supporting qualified artisans and supervisors in daily engineering tasks
- Demonstrating commitment and discipline throughout the programme
- Attending all assessments, site inductions, and workshops
Learners will rotate through various workstations and gain full exposure to engineering operations in a mining environment.
