Department of Education and Training: 3 Drivers Wanted The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) is on the lookout for skilled individuals to join as Drivers. Key Responsibilities
As a DHET Driver, your duties will include:
- Operating motor vehicles to transport documents and passengers securely.
- Collecting and delivering confidential documents according to delivery instructions.
- Managing external mail deliveries and pickups from the Post Office.
- Transporting employees to and from designated locations.
- Conducting daily vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Reporting accidents, incidents, and vehicle defects promptly.
- Maintaining accurate vehicle logbooks and records.
Requirements to Apply
To qualify, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a Grade 12 certificate (Vocational) or NCV Level 4 certificate.
- Possess a valid driver’s license (mandatory).
- Have 7–12 months of experience in driving and messenger services.
- Prior experience in the Minister’s or Deputy Minister’s office will be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with locations relevant to the role.
- Knowledge of database form capturing and logbook compilation.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications and record-keeping.
