Job Description
Successful candidates will work under the EPWP Coordination, Monitoring, Reporting, and Evaluation unit within the Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and the Environment. The primary goal is to assist in the coordination and monitoring of EPWP activities, ensuring accurate data reporting and effective communication between various public bodies.
Participants will be engaged in project monitoring, data management, stakeholder communication, and administrative reporting to support national and provincial public works programs. The aim is to strengthen service delivery and improve the impact of EPWP projects across the country.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Database Management: Create and manage an up-to-date database for EPWP reports submitted by municipalities, provinces, and national departments.
- Data Capturing and Reporting: Capture monthly progress reports accurately in the EPWP system and prepare reports for review by senior officials.
- Exception Reporting: Identify missing data or inconsistencies in submissions and compile exception reports to flag and address discrepancies.
- Reconciliation of Reports: Cross-check project progress reports to ensure they align with recorded data and submit reconciled reports to management.
- Stakeholder Monitoring: Track reporting compliance from all stakeholders and ensure timely data submissions as per EPWP reporting guidelines.
- Administrative Support: Provide clerical and administrative support to the EPWP Coordination and Monitoring Team, including managing correspondence and filing systems.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification:
- A recognized three-year Bachelor’s Degree, National Diploma, or equivalent qualification in fields such as Public Administration, Environmental Management, Project Management, Data Management, or related areas.
- Experience:
- 0 to 2 years of relevant work experience (entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply).
- Demographic Profile:
- South African citizens who meet the DFFE’s Employment Equity targets are encouraged to apply.
Knowledge Requirements
- Basic understanding of the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) framework.
- Familiarity with reporting systems and coordination processes across national, provincial, and municipal government levels.
- Ability to manage data reconciliation processes and ensure data integrity in government systems.
- Understanding of public sector compliance and monitoring protocols.
Role Responsibility
