Job Description
The Business Banking Coverage SA Graduate Programme aims to prepare graduates for a successful career in business banking by offering practical experience across multiple industries and customer segments. Graduates will work closely with relationship managers, analysts, and operational teams to learn the art and science of banking relationships that support business growth.
You will gain exposure to:
- 14 key industry sectors covered by Standard Bank
- Advanced client relationship models and ecosystem mindsets
- Commercial and agricultural banking solutions
- Risk management, portfolio monitoring, and credit assessment

Graduates will be trained to eventually support or lead portfolios within Premium & Growth segments of Business Banking, with the overarching goal of adding tangible value to clients and the economy.
Ideal Candidate

Minimum requirements include:
- South African Citizenship
- No more than 12 months of work experience
- Currently studying or completed an undergraduate or honours degree (completion date must not be later than 31 December 2025)

Role Responsibility
The graduate will work in tandem with Relationship Managers and sector experts to support business clients in the following ways:
- Assist in the growth and retention of a high-value client portfolio
- Use sector knowledge to deliver value-added solutions for business clients
- Fulfil client-facing tasks, including sales and service delivery
- Handle portfolio management and reporting
- Ensure regulatory compliance and smooth day-to-day operations
- Play a proactive role in credit assessment and monitoring, learning to identify client risks and opportunities
- Act as a central contact point between clients and the bank, enhancing client satisfaction through efficient support
