Job Description
The purpose of the Motus Learnership Programme is to empower young South Africans with technical skills, workplace exposure, and industry-specific knowledge in the automotive and retail space. This programme aligns with Motus’s mission to develop future professionals and support the national drive to reduce youth unemployment.

The programme will run for 12 months and cover the following operational areas:

  • Wholesale operations and product handling
  • Sales and retail processes
  • Basic administration and inventory control
  • Customer service practices
  • Warehouse operations such as picking, binning, packing

Throughout the learnership, participants will engage in on-the-job training, formal classroom sessions, and performance assessments to track their growth and development.

Ideal Candidate

To qualify for the programme, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Must be currently unemployed
  • Must be between 18 and 25 years old
  • Must not have prior work experience
  • Must have a Diploma qualification (Matric certificate as a minimum)
  • Must have a clear criminal record
  • Must be willing to work at a Motus branch in Cape Town or surrounding areas
  • Must demonstrate a passion for the retail and automotive sector

Required documentation to include when applying:

  • An updated CV
  • A clear certified copy of your ID (not older than 3 months)
  • A clear certified copy of your Matric certificate (not older than 3 months)

Role Responsibility
As part of this learnership, successful candidates will gain hands-on experience across multiple core areas of business operations. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Warehouse functions: You will participate in picking, binning, and packing automotive parts, ensuring the right parts are correctly stored and shipped.
  • Retail & Sales support: You’ll learn how to assist customers, manage sales transactions, and understand pricing and product promotions.
  • Administrative tasks: Exposure to inventory management systems, report generation, and basic clerical work to support back-office operations.
  • Customer service training: Interact with real customers, resolving basic queries and ensuring high levels of satisfaction under guidance.
