To support this mandate, SARB is currently seeking a dedicated and service-oriented Hospitality Services Assistant. This full-time position is ideal for candidates who are passionate about hospitality, food service, and client experience within a high-standard institutional environment.

Job Description
The main purpose of this role is to render hospitality, food, and beverage services during SARB meetings, internal functions, and special events. The successful candidate will work in boardrooms, cafes, meeting spaces, and function venues to ensure the highest level of cleanliness, service, and client satisfaction.

This position requires professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in line with strict food safety, hygiene, and customer service standards.

Ideal Candidate

Minimum requirements include:

  • Grade 12 certificate (NQF Level 4) or equivalent qualification
  • One to two years of job-related experience in a hospitality environment
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and hospitality best practices
  • Experience in the Hospitality industry is advantageous

Role Responsibility
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting SARB’s operations by executing a range of hospitality-related tasks with precision and care. Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting up and preparing meeting rooms, cafes, boardrooms, and function venues
  • Clearing and sanitising spaces post-events or meetings
  • Serving food and refreshments according to SARB and ISO food safety standards
  • Inspecting and reporting on venue readiness before and after functions
  • Maintaining sanitation, health, and hygiene protocols in work areas
  • Adhering to relevant legislation, including ISO 22000 (Food Safety), ISO 9001 (Quality Management), and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS&E) standards
  • Displaying professional courtesy to clients, employees, and visitors
  • Proactively identifying areas for operational improvement and taking action
  • Reporting lost and found items or breakages/shortages in cutlery, crockery, and event equipment
  • Supporting team members and fostering a collaborative working culture
  • Upholding SARB’s values through a service-driven mindset and consistent work ethic
