Currently, YES 4 Youth is inviting applications for two vacancies in Gauteng, offering young South Africans the chance to work in a dynamic logistics and service environment. The successful candidates will gain essential experience in loading, offloading, operational procedures, customer service, and safety protocols while fulfilling tasks that contribute directly to the company’s service delivery.

Job Description
The purpose of this role is to provide unemployed youth with a structured 12-month workplace experience, where they will learn, apply, and develop job-ready skills under professional supervision. The programme is designed to expose participants to various operational aspects of business while ensuring they build a strong foundation for future employment opportunities.

Core duties and responsibilities include:

  • Learning and strictly adhering to client-specific requirements and service protocols
  • Gaining practical knowledge in the correct use of equipment, with timely reporting of any technical defects or safety hazards
  • Monitoring and recording any non-conformities related to customer merchandise and service delivery
  • Performing assigned duties within designated operational areas, following the instructions of Team Leaders and Managers
  • Adhering to all company delivery procedures, safety standards, and operational guidelines
  • Working cooperatively within a team environment to fulfil daily delivery instructions accurately
  • Maintaining the company’s professional image while engaging with clients, team members, and stakeholders
  • Displaying a positive work ethic, reliability, and commitment to the highest standards of operational excellence
  • Following all allocated loading and offloading tasks in accordance with daily schedules and procedures

Ideal Candidate

Minimum eligibility requirements include:

  • South African Citizenship (ID required)
  • Must be unemployed at the time of application
  • Age group: 18 to 29 years
  • Completed Matric (Grade 12) with passes in English and Mathematics/Mathematics Literacy
  • Must meet BBB-EE criteria (Black Economic Empowerment Candidates)
  • Willingness to work in physically demanding environments that require manual tasks such as loading and offloading

Role Responsibility
As a participant in this work experience programme, the selected candidates will be actively involved in hands-on operational work while being mentored and supported by experienced supervisors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with loading and offloading of customer merchandise according to standard operating procedures
  • Ensuring all delivery instructions are carried out accurately and within set timeframes
  • Building operational knowledge regarding equipment handling and safety protocols
  • Reporting any discrepancies or damages to merchandise immediately
  • Working collaboratively with the team to ensure timely delivery of services
  • Maintaining the integrity of the business through professional conduct at all times
  • Learning and adapting to changing work assignments based on business needs
  • Supporting customer service excellence by understanding client expectations and responding courteously
  • Recording and reporting all incidents, defects, or process failures in compliance with company guidelines
