Job Description
The role of a Food & Beverage (F&B) Attendant is to deliver superior hospitality services in line with Sun International’s service standards. Successful candidates will work across multiple F&B outlets, including restaurant operations, banqueting operations, seminars, and the casino floor where applicable.

F&B Attendants will be responsible for preparing the service area, delivering food and beverage orders, managing customer interactions, preparing drinks, executing cashier functions, and ensuring that customer needs are met throughout their dining experience.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidates for this position must have prior experience in customer service or hospitality environments and must demonstrate the ability to deliver high service standards, work within a team, and manage fast-paced service operations effectively.

Minimum requirements include:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification on the NQF framework
  • At least 2 years of experience as a waiter, bartender, or other customer service roles in the hospitality industry
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Numeracy skills to handle cash transactions and billing processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Physical fitness to handle operating equipment and work standing for extended hours
  • Ability to work shifts, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays
  • Open to rotational assignments across different F&B outlets based on operational needs

Role Responsibility
As part of the Food & Beverage team, successful candidates will take on multiple responsibilities across preparation, service delivery, beverage management, and customer engagement:

Prepared Work Area:

  • Conduct mise-en-place and place settings prior to service
  • Prepare restaurant, conference, and banqueting facilities according to event requirements
  • Inspect floor appearance, operating equipment, and system functionality
  • Clean assigned work areas and ensure hygiene standards are maintained
  • Participate in stocktakes, inventory control, and report any anomalies
  • Comply with health, safety, hygiene, and environmental regulations

Delivered Food Services:

  • Stay updated on menu items, food products, cooking trends, and guest offerings
  • Take guest food orders accurately and capture them in the ordering system
  • Explain menu items and make recommendations to guests
  • Coordinate special requests with kitchen staff
  • Serve food to guests and ensure proper presentation standards are met
  • Clear tables, provide billing, process payments, and conduct cash-ups
  • Upsell promotional food items and provide excellent table service

Prepared and Delivered Beverage Services:

  • Stay informed on beverage products, trends, and preparation methods
  • Take and place beverage orders correctly and efficiently
  • Prepare and serve beverages according to guest orders and standards
  • Clear used glasses and clean the beverage area
  • Administer billing, cashiering, and end-of-shift cash-ups
  • Complete beverage stock sheets, daily counts, and report any discrepancies
  • Report breakages and adhere to bar inventory management protocols
  • Promote upselling opportunities for beverages and cocktail specials

Customer Engagement:

  • Greet guests warmly, acknowledging arrivals and departures with professionalism
  • Interact with guests throughout service, identifying customer preferences and delivering solutions
  • Educate guests on Sun City Resort facilities, reward programs, and promotions
  • Handle customer complaints and escalate issues where necessary to management
  • Foster a positive customer experience to ensure guest satisfaction
