Pharmacist Internships at Limpopo Department of Health

Introduction

The Limpopo Department of Health (LDOH) invites applications from qualified unemployed South African pharmacy graduates for the 2026 Pharmacist Internship Programme. The department has made available 152 internship positions across various hospitals and healthcare facilities in the Limpopo Province.

Internship Start Date: March 2026 (anticipated) Stipend: R440,226.00 per annum

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy OR current academic transcript
  • Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a pharmacy student
  • South African citizenship
  • Completed and signed Z83 application form
  • Certified copy of ID
  • Comprehensive CV

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work under supervision of a registered pharmacist
  • Perform duties aligned with the scope of a Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant
  • Assist in the provision of pharmaceutical care services in public hospitals

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Computer literacy and reporting abilities
  • Understanding of the Pharmacy Act (No. 53 of 1974)
  • Knowledge of the Medicines and Related Substances Act (No. 101 of 1965)
  • Excellent record-keeping abilities
