Job Description
The Human Capital Learner will support Absa’s HR division in executing day-to-day functions and strategic HR initiatives. This includes administrative support, data management, and event coordination, all within a highly professional and transformative corporate environment.
Learners will:
- Provide general administrative support to the Human Capital team
- Assist in the onboarding and offboarding of employees
- Maintain accurate HR documentation and employee records
- Help in planning and executing employee wellness and engagement initiatives
- Offer logistical support for training sessions and learning and development events
- Contribute to ad hoc HR projects and compliance tasks
- Capture HR data and assist in compiling monthly reports and HR analytics
- Gain hands-on experience in areas such as recruitment, industrial relations, and workforce planning

Ideal Candidate
The programme seeks young, driven, and ethical individuals who possess strong administrative and interpersonal skills, and a desire to grow professionally within the HR field.
Minimum eligibility requirements include:
- A completed Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in:
- Human Resource Management
- Organisational Psychology
- Business Administration (HR focused)
- Or related disciplines
- Unemployed status at the time of application
- Must be available for the full 12-month duration of the programme
- Aged between 18 and 34 years
- A clear credit record and no criminal record
- South African citizen with a valid ID document
Role Responsibility
As a Human Capital Learner, your role will include:
- Supporting key HR functions across different HR portfolios, including learning and development, employee relations, payroll, and wellness
- Participating in HR audits and compliance activities
- Assisting in HR policy implementation and employee communication campaigns
- Gaining experience with HR management systems (HRMS)
- Engaging with internal stakeholders to deliver HR services efficiently
- Upholding Absa’s values of integrity, customer service, excellence, and innovation in all tasks
