Job Description:
The Graduate in Training (GIT) programme at Eskom provides workplace-based training and professional exposure to candidates across a wide variety of disciplines. Interns will be placed in different departments aligned with their qualifications and will be guided through a formalised development plan, mentoring sessions, and real work experience.
The programme typically spans 12 to 24 months depending on the discipline and performance of the intern. Interns will contribute to key projects and initiatives within the business while gaining hands-on industry experience and workplace readiness.

Engineers in Training (EIT) Programme:
Minimum qualification: BSc or BEng in:
- Electrical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
Ideal Candidate:
Eskom seeks graduates who are eager to learn, committed to development, and passionate about the role energy plays in the transformation of South Africa. The ideal applicant must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be unemployed at the time of application
- Hold a completed relevant qualification (minimum NQF Level 6 for diploma programmes and NQF Level 7 for degree programmes)
- Have no prior work experience in the field of qualification (internship experience excluded)
- Be under the age of 35
- Be willing to relocate or travel to the placement site
- Be available to commit to the duration of the internship
Role Responsibility:
Depending on the placement department, interns will:
- Assist with project coordination, research, and data analysis
- Participate in operational and strategic meetings
- Provide support to functional teams and contribute to key business processes
- Compile technical documentation, reports, and presentations
- Engage in community outreach and stakeholder engagement (in communication/public affairs roles)
- Gain hands-on experience in engineering design, site assessments, and infrastructure evaluation (engineering roles)
- Contribute to safety, environmental, and quality compliance initiatives
- Perform administrative and financial tasks relevant to their field of study
