Job Description
This learnership will expose participants to the day-to-day operations within a Truworths store. As a learner, you will:
- Work a minimum of 120 hours during the programme
- Be cross-trained in both the sales floor and service desk operations
- Gain hands-on experience in customer service and visual merchandising
- Complete logbooks and prepare for formal assessments
- Be evaluated for competence in all assigned tasks and retail procedures
This programme is aligned with industry standards and aims to equip learners with the knowledge and skills required to become competent sales consultants. Upon successful completion, participants will receive formal recognition and may be considered for permanent employment, depending on business needs and performance.

Role Responsibility
As a learnership participant, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting customers with product selections and queries
- Merchandising stock in accordance with the Merchandise Best Practice (MBP) principles
- Operating the Point of Sale (POS) system for purchases and payments
- Promoting and assisting with opening of store credit accounts
- Performing regular stock checks and controlling stock losses
- Building long-term relationships with customers through excellent service
- Maintaining in-store safety and security standards for customers and staff
- Supporting general housekeeping and store presentation efforts
This well-rounded role will give you valuable exposure to both front-of-house and behind-the-scenes operations in retail.
