Job Description:
As a Sales Assistant, you will be expected to deliver exceptional in-store service, contribute toward store goals, and maintain a high standard of presentation. You’ll be the first point of contact for customers and play a crucial role in ensuring a memorable shopping experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming and assisting customers in a friendly, knowledgeable manner
- Achieving personal and store sales targets through upselling and customer engagement
- Ensuring the store is well-stocked, clean, and visually appealing at all times
- Maintaining accurate cash handling and till balancing
- Assisting with stock control, including unpacking and merchandising new deliveries
- Supporting the team with promotional and seasonal campaign rollouts
- Handling product queries, exchanges, and returns professionally and efficiently
- Actively participating in team meetings and training sessions
- Promoting brand loyalty through consistent customer engagement and service excellence

Role Responsibility:
The successful candidate will report directly to the Store Manager and support the overall store strategy by:
- Delivering outstanding customer experiences with each interaction
- Offering product knowledge and assistance to support customer purchasing decisions
- Keeping displays tidy, organised, and in line with the company’s visual merchandising standards
- Minimising shrinkage through attentive customer interaction and store vigilance
- Contributing ideas to improve store performance, layout, or product presentation
- Acting as an ambassador for the Cape Union Mart brand
