Job Description:
The ABB Graduate Internship Programme allows recent university graduates to develop technical and soft skills while contributing to real projects within ABB’s Process Automation Business Area and support functions. Interns will gain insights into how a multinational organization operates across critical industries such as energy, manufacturing, and logistics.
Participants will work under the guidance of experienced mentors, attending workshops, team collaborations, and performance improvement initiatives. Whether in marketing, finance, engineering, human resources, or occupational safety, the internship fosters growth, resilience, and a sense of purpose.
Key responsibilities include:
- Participating in training sessions to understand ABB’s systems, culture, and industry presence
- Engaging in business operations, helping to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions
- Supporting ongoing internal projects, gaining practical experience related to your field of study
- Monitoring KPIs and contributing to performance enhancements
- Working with ABB experts to learn about company policies and corporate best practices
- Attending regular performance reviews and feedback sessions to accelerate learning

Preferred qualifications include:
- BA or BCom Degree in one of the following fields:
- Finance / Accounting
- Human Resources
- Supply Chain Management
- Occupational Health & Safety
- Marketing / Communication
- South African Citizenship (compulsory)
- University graduate with no more than 2 years of work experience
- Minimum of 65% academic average throughout studies
- Not currently employed in a full-time position
Role Responsibility:
As an intern at ABB, you will contribute to one of the following departments:
- Corporate Marketing and Communication
- Assist in executing branding, PR, and internal communications strategies
- Support event planning and corporate storytelling initiatives
- Supply Chain & Logistics
- Support supply planning, procurement, and vendor coordination
- Assist with data reporting and inventory control processes
- Human Resources
- Contribute to onboarding, learning & development, and employee engagement
- Support payroll preparation and HR administration tasks
- Finance & Accounting
- Assist in financial reporting, analysis, and invoice processing
- Support business controlling and budgeting
- Occupational Health & Safety (OHS)
- Help implement workplace safety programs and awareness campaigns
- Conduct risk assessments and assist with compliance documentation
- Information Technology (IT/IS)
- Assist in managing systems, networks, and troubleshooting user issues
- Support Microsoft Power Platform and other digital transformation projects
