Job Description:
The Driver/Cleaner will be responsible for ensuring safe transportation of vehicles, documentation, and customers in line with operational standards. The individual will also be accountable for keeping vehicles and premises clean and well-maintained, ensuring all vehicles meet the company’s rigorous quality control benchmarks.
The role is focused on:
- Providing efficient transport services for vehicles, documents, and customers
- Maintaining the cleanliness of vehicle interiors and exteriors
- Performing basic quality checks and refuelling procedures
- Supporting the daily operations of the branch by assisting with other responsibilities when needed

Role Responsibility:
Key responsibilities include:
- Cleaning vehicles to showroom-quality standards (interior and exterior)
- Conducting vehicle quality control, including checking license expirations, service schedules, and reporting any discrepancies
- Ensuring all vehicles received from other branches or suppliers meet internal standards
- Performing refuelling tasks and fluid checks (oil, water, etc.)
- Monitoring tyre pressure and reporting any mechanical faults immediately
- Delivering and collecting vehicles from customers and other Auto Pedigree branches
- Collecting and delivering documents to suppliers, customers, and financial institutions
- Keeping the premises clean and tidy
- Acting as a professional ambassador of the company while delivering goods or transporting clients
- Protecting company assets and ensuring all vehicle movements are recorded and conducted responsibly
- Performing other ad hoc duties as instructed by the Branch Manager
Skills and Attributes:

- Fluency in English and one additional South African language
- Ability to read maps and follow directions accurately

Minimum Requirements:
Candidates must meet the following baseline qualifications and experience levels:
- Matric / Grade 12 certificate
- At least 2 years of relevant driving and vehicle-handling experience
- Valid Code 8 driver’s license (unendorsed and minimum 2 years old)
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients
- Comfortable with general cleaning and maintenance duties
- Must be able to read a map and navigate efficiently
- Basic computer skills (email, simple forms)
- Knowledge of vehicle basics (e.g., checking fluids, tyre pressure) is advantageous
