Job Position: General Worker – Job Type: Permanent (450 posts across all regions)

Qualification:

Minimum Grade 8 (basic literacy)
Proficiency in at least two official languages of the municipality

Experience:

Previous general work experience is advantageous but not mandatory
Willingness to work shifts, respond to emergencies, and perform overtime duties

Key Performance Areas

Perform general duties within assigned directorates
Support parks and cemeteries with grave digging, landscaping, and horticulture maintenance
Assist waste management teams with refuse collection, illegal dumping, public cleansing, and disposal site operations
Contribute to road and stormwater maintenance and cleaning projects
Support water demand services and sanitation teams including sewer purification and vacuum services
Assist at the Fresh Produce Market and municipal facilities
Ensure compliance with municipal standards of cleanliness, safety, and service delivery
