Traffic Officer Learnership 2026 (x 204 Opportunities Available)

The Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety is inviting applications for its Traffic Officer Learnership 2026, offering 204 paid training opportunities for unemployed young people who want to build a career in traffic law enforcement.

Successful applicants will receive a 12-month training opportunity with an annual stipend of R70,383 while completing accredited traffic officer training.

About the Traffic Officer Learnership

The Traffic Learner Officer Learnership is designed to prepare unemployed youth for careers in traffic law enforcement and road safety.

Learners receive a combination of:

  • Classroom-based learning
  • Practical traffic officer training
  • Physical fitness training
  • Road traffic legislation instruction
  • Workplace experience

Training takes place at an accredited Traffic College, where learners develop the knowledge, discipline and practical skills required in the traffic law enforcement environment.

The programme forms part of the Limpopo Government’s ongoing efforts to improve road safety while creating employment and skills development opportunities for young people.

Who Can Apply?

To be considered for the Traffic Officer Learnership, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be residing in Limpopo Province
  • Have a Grade 12 (Matric), NQF Level 4 or equivalent qualification recognised by SAQA
  • Have no criminal record
  • Be medically and physically fit
  • Be willing to undergo medical and fitness assessments
  • Not have been declared unfit to possess a firearm under the Firearms Control Act
  • Possess good communication skills

Added Advantage

Although not compulsory, having a valid driver’s licence will be an advantage.
