Job Description

The Fleet Internship Programme provides structured, hands-on training in various aspects of fleet operations and logistics management. Interns will be given responsibilities across key operational areas and will play an integral role in supporting the Logistics Division at Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage Fleet Operation
    • Support the day-to-day operational activities of the fleet management system
    • Assist with vehicle scheduling, routing, and dispatch processes
    • Ensure proper vehicle utilization and monitor vehicle performance
  • Compliance Management
    • Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, including vehicle licensing, permits, and regulations
    • Conduct vehicle inspections and audits in line with legal requirements
  • Stakeholder and Contractor Management
    • Liaise with internal stakeholders, drivers, and third-party contractors
    • Assist with coordinating maintenance schedules with external service providers
    • Support communication between departments to ensure operational efficiency
  • Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE)
    • Promote adherence to SHE policies and practices within the fleet department
    • Assist with the implementation and monitoring of safety protocols
  • Administrative Support
    • Perform administrative duties, including data capturing, filing, and reporting
    • Prepare and maintain accurate fleet records, reports, and documentation

Minimum Requirements

  • Educational Qualifications:
    • Qualified Diesel Mechanic or Qualified Fitter
    • Grade 12 / Matric certificate
  • Work Eligibility:
    • South African citizen
    • Willingness to relocate if necessary to East London, Perseverance, or KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) for the duration of the internship

Role Responsibilities

As part of the Fleet Internship Programme, interns will be expected to:

  • Provide support in managing and operating a large fleet of vehicles
  • Ensure that all vehicles comply with relevant laws and company policies
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure efficient service delivery
  • Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment through adherence to SHE protocols
  • Perform routine administrative tasks with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
  • Assist in identifying and resolving fleet management challenges
