Successful candidates will be appointed on a 10-month fixed-term contract, earn a monthly stipend of R7,450.63, and be deployed across various provincial offices of the Department.
Job Description
Participants in the Presidential Youth Development Programme will be responsible for supporting employment counselling operations within their respective regional offices. This includes assisting with recruitment services, contributing to labour market research, and providing career guidance through data-driven strategies. The programme ensures exposure to the administrative, analytical, and advisory facets of public employment services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting Employment Counsellors in service delivery and job placement tasks
- Assisting with career guidance and labour market research
- Maintaining and updating jobseeker information in the ESSA system
- Facilitating recruitment and selection processes within the public job portal
- Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure high-quality service to clients

Qualifications
To be eligible for this internship, you must have:
- A completed three-year qualification (NQF Level 6 or 7) in Psychology or Industrial Psychology
- Preference will be given to applicants with an Honours Degree in either of the fields
- HPCSA registration as a Registered Counsellor or Psychometrist (Independent Practice) is advantageous
- No previous full-time work experience is required
