Job Description
The primary goal of the Sales Associate is to offer exceptional customer service while driving revenue through effective selling and brand representation. The ideal candidate will act as an ambassador for GALXBOY, ensuring that every customer interaction is meaningful and aligned with the brand’s values.
This role includes retail duties across customer service, sales, merchandising, housekeeping, and stock management.
Ideal Candidate
GALXBOY is looking for motivated individuals who are self-driven, professional, and enthusiastic about fashion and customer experience. A keen eye for style, the ability to connect with people, and a willingness to learn will make you a valuable asset to the team.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
- Computer literacy (POS systems, basic admin)
- 1–2 years’ experience in a retail environment (fashion retail is an advantage)
- Higher education or retail-related qualification (advantageous)
- Strong command of English, verbal and written
Role Responsibility
The Sales Associate will be responsible for delivering outstanding service, ensuring the store is visually appealing, and meeting individual and team sales targets. Responsibilities are grouped into the following key areas:
Customer Service:
- Greet and welcome all customers with a friendly and engaging attitude
- Offer styling advice and product recommendations based on customer needs
- Build rapport and cultivate a loyal customer base
- Execute upselling and cross-selling techniques to increase basket size and store turnover
Sales Support:
- Assist in achieving and exceeding daily and monthly sales targets
- Support promotional and marketing campaigns as required
- Process all transactions accurately using the POS system, including handling cash, debit/credit cards, and vouchers
Visual Merchandising:
- Ensure all products are well-displayed, tagged, and steamed
- Implement visual merchandising (VM) guidelines as provided by head office
- Monitor and replenish stock on the sales floor in real-time
Stock Management:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient stockroom
- Report stock levels, best sellers, and stockouts to managers
- Assist with stock takes and inventory-related tasks
Store Operations & Housekeeping:
- Adhere to time and attendance policies (clocking in/out, punctuality)
- Maintain the cleanliness of the store and fitting rooms at all times
- Participate in daily opening and closing procedures
