Limpopo Malaria Control Programme Opens 350 Posts (R310 Per Day)

The Limpopo Department of Health is recruiting 350 Malaria Spray Operators for the 2025 Malaria Control Programme. This initiative aims to protect vulnerable communities across the province while creating vital job opportunities for unemployed youth and local residents.

These are temporary job opportunities where successful applicants will serve as Malaria Spray Operators. The role involves carrying out indoor residual spraying (IRS) and providing operational support to help prevent the spread of malaria. The contract period runs for 132 days, with a daily stipend of R310.

Available Jobs and Requirements

Job Position: Malaria Spray Operator | Job Type: Temporary Contract (132 days)

  • Qualification: Grade 12 / Matric Certificate or equivalent (NQF level 4)
  • Experience: No formal work experience required, but candidates must demonstrate basic reading, writing, and calculation skills
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Physically fit to carry spraying equipment
    • Ability to work safely with chemicals
    • Willingness to work in community field environments

Key Performance Areas

  • Mix insecticides and prepare spraying solutions
  • Load and offload spraying equipment and supplies
  • Assist households with covering and protecting property before spraying
  • Clean spray cans, vehicles, malaria stations, and equipment
  • Complete spray and hut cards (SP 1) accurately
  • Capture operational data during and after spray cycles
  • Conduct community engagement and environmental surveillance
