Programme Overview
The National Youth Service Programme Phase V 2026 is now open, offering 100 000 paid community service opportunities for unemployed young people across South Africa. Participants will gain valuable work experience, practical skills, community service exposure, and a pathway towards future employment while earning through paid service.
Responsibilities
As a National Youth Service Participant, you will be responsible for some of the following:
- Attend a compulsory induction session by the United Youth Organization at the site (Workstation).
- Provide a monthly report on the progress of your work to your supervisor or team leader.
- Contribute towards the improvement of the community through work assigned to you.
- Participate and contribute towards the NYS work.
- Participate in training provided by the implementing Partner and contribute to work activities that will be done.
- Carry out any other responsibilities as instructed by your supervisor.
The following programs will be provided at this site:
- Community Works.
- Agriculture and Food Security.
- Community Safety.
- Waste Management.
- Education support.
- Arts and sports.
Requirements
- Must be Unemployed ·
- Must be 18- 35 years of age ·
- Must be a South African Citizen with a valid SA ID/Temporary ID.
- Not be currently in full-time studies.
- Be willing and able to provide proof of residence.
- Must be willing to participate in ANY of the Programs Listed in Description.
- Applicants must be willing and able to work at one of the sites available in their area.
