This 42-month structured development programme provides experiential learning in the mining environment, mentorship, and a pathway to secure a substantial role within Seriti upon completion. The internship is available at various Seriti Collieries in Mpumalanga and Free State.

Key Responsibilities
- Present key learnings to the Operational Management Team after each training phase
- Undertake a research project during the second year and present at programme completion
- Attend all prescribed courses, seminars, and developmental sessions
- Act in the capacity of other roles when required and deliver outcomes
- Suggest and advise on process improvements within mining operations
- Identify and participate in value-add projects through research and benchmarking
- Engage with a technical coach and mentor for guidance
Requirements
Internal Applicants
- Recognition of prior learning for candidates with mining production, geology, or mine planning experience
- Advantageous to have started or completed Strata Control Certificate in Coal
- Sound references from previous employers or institutions
- Proven project completion related to field of study
- Theoretical knowledge in mining/geology disciplines
- Mature, motivated, and eager to learn
- Business writing, planning, and organisational skills
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Valid driver’s license and Certificate of Fitness (or ability to obtain one)
External Applicants
- Qualifications: BSc Engineering (Mining), BSc Geology (Hons), or BEng Tech (Hons)
- Strong academic record with proven project completion
- Mature, motivated, and eager to learn
- Excellent business writing and communication skills
- Planning, organisation, and computer literacy (MS Office)
- Valid driver’s license and Certificate of Fitness (or ability to obtain one)
Advantageous for All Applicants
- Prior temporary work experience in mining/geology fields
