Are you passionate about conservation and biodiversity management SANParks is offering three opportunities for Armed Field Guards at Mokala National Park These roles are part of the Biodiversity Social Projects and provide fixed-term employment until March 2026

Who is SANParks?

The South African National Parks SANParks is the custodian of 21 national parks across the country tasked with protecting biodiversity cultural heritage and ecosystems SANParks supports eco-tourism education and biodiversity social projects while also empowering local communities

What is the Armed Field Guard role?

The Armed Field Guard role is focused on safeguarding biodiversity and field teams through patrols law enforcement anti-poaching operations and supporting conservation projects at Mokala National Park

What you will gain

Candidate role during the programme

Conduct daily patrols on foot and by vehicle
Guard field teams and protect natural resources
Support anti-poaching operations and ensure compliance with NEMA legislation
Record incidents and sightings accurately
Assist with biodiversity monitoring and alien plant control
Promote discipline and safety in the park environment

Are you Eligible Requirements

Grade 12 certificate
Valid firearm competency for Self Loading Rifle Unit standards 117705 119650 123511
Completion of Basic Field Ranger course
Health and Safety Level 1 understanding
Proof of residence and SAPS clearance certificate
Medical certificate of fitness and physical ability for extended patrols
No criminal record
