Purpose of the Job
This role focuses on identifying learning needs, utilizing effective methodologies, developing training materials, and facilitating workforce training and assessments. These efforts ensure compliance with legal standards and alignment with the requirements of accreditation authorities, such as IFSAC and QCTO, as well as Sasol’s policies and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply safety, health, and environmental (SHE) best practices in all training-related activities.
- Identify required learning interventions and define learning outcomes.
- Deliver training using diverse methodologies and techniques.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training through measurable improvements in job performance and knowledge transfer.
- Facilitate both formal and on-the-job learning sessions.
- Develop, revise, and update learning materials as necessary.
- Participate in Key Performance Area (KPA) and Personal Development Plan (PDP) discussions.
- Ensure consistent performance against established KPA targets.
- Collaborate effectively with all stakeholders to achieve common goals.
- Propose safety improvement initiatives and actively participate in housekeeping activities.
Educational Requirements
- Grade 12 with Mathematical Literacy or equivalent qualification.
- Firefighter 1 Certification (NFPA 1001) – Required.
- Firefighter 2 Certification (NFPA 1001) – Required.
- Level 3 First Aid Certification – Required.
- Hazmat Awareness Certification (NFPA 1072/472) – Required.
- Hazmat Operations Certification (NFPA 1072/472) – Required.
- Must be medically fit as per the fitness assessment for firefighters.
Experience Requirements
- 0–5+ years of relevant experience.
