Job Description
This learnership focuses on equipping candidates with the tools and knowledge needed to function effectively in a dynamic retail environment. Over the course of the programme, learners will be exposed to all aspects of the retail business including customer interaction, sales support, visual merchandising, and operational procedures. The ultimate goal is to develop competent, confident, and customer-focused retail professionals.

Key duties include:

  • Delivering customer service with excellence and professionalism
  • Assisting customers with finding and selecting merchandise
  • Learning and applying merchandising standards based on the MBP principles
  • Performing sales transactions using the POS (Point of Sale) system
  • Supporting store operations, including opening new customer accounts
  • Contributing to stock loss prevention and store security initiatives
  • Participating in regular assessments to track learning progress
  • Completing all logbooks and learning modules required by the learnership

Ideal Candidate
This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic, dependable, and passionate about fashion retail. No prior retail experience is required, but a strong desire to learn and a commitment to completing the full duration of the learnership programme is essential.

Candidates should:

  • Be between the ages of 18 and 35
  • Have completed at least Grade 10
  • Be South African citizens with a valid ID
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be able to commit to a minimum of 120 hours of practical work
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Have a passion for fashion and customer service

Role Responsibility
As a learner in this programme, your responsibilities will include:

  • Actively participating in all training sessions and workplace activities
  • Engaging with customers in a friendly and helpful manner
  • Ensuring that merchandise is displayed correctly and attractively
  • Accurately capturing sales and transactions on the POS system
  • Learning about customer account management and store administration
  • Monitoring and reducing stock losses through awareness and diligence
  • Contributing to a safe and secure shopping environment
  • Supporting the store team in achieving daily sales targets
