Job Description
As a Customer Support Representative at Absa, you will be responsible for ensuring that every client interaction is professional, solution-oriented, and aligned with regulatory and operational standards. Your daily duties will revolve around offering responsive and efficient service to clients, managing complaints and queries effectively, and supporting the continuous improvement of customer servicing processes.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Responding efficiently, accurately, and courteously to all customer service matters, complaints, and requests
  • Supporting the development, improvement, and compliance of processes in the Customer Services Centre
  • Monitoring and managing risk associated with customer servicing activities
  • Ensuring all client interactions comply with Absa’s risk, compliance, legal, and regulatory frameworks
  • Establishing and maintaining strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Being proactive in personal development by engaging in ongoing training and upskilling opportunities

Minimum Requirements:

  • Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC) in Business, Commerce, and Management Studies or a related field (Required)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven customer service orientation
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset
  • Understanding of banking products, processes, and regulatory requirements (an advantage)
  • South African citizenship or valid work permit

Role Responsibility
Successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service aligned to predefined objectives and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Handle client queries across multiple platforms and channels
  • Assist in the identification of operational risks and the implementation of corrective actions
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge to advise clients accurately
  • Engage with key internal stakeholders to improve client service delivery
  • Act as an ambassador for the Absa brand through professional conduct and excellent service
  • Identify opportunities to improve the customer experience and make appropriate recommendations
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives
  • Contribute to meeting or exceeding customer service centre performance targets
