Qualification:
- Minimum requirement: Matric
- Culinary qualification would be advantageous
Experience:
- Proven cooking experience
- At least 2 years in a similar role
Key Performance Areas
- Prepare and cook meats, fish, vegetables, gravies, cereals, soups, fruits, bakery products, and special diets
- Assist in training and guiding food service workers and students
- Support with the preparation of salads and desserts
- Maintain food production records and notify supervisors of supply needs
- Clean kitchen, utensils, and equipment, ensuring safety and sanitation standards are met
- Serve food as required with correct portion control
- Plan menus and manage stock where necessary
- Stay updated on food trends and best practices
- Report equipment and food quality issues promptly
- Work as part of a team, upholding hygiene and quality standards
