Job Description
The MSC Cruises Onboard Training Programme equips participants with the technical and interpersonal skills needed to excel in cruise hospitality roles. Upon completion, candidates become eligible for placement on MSC ships in departments such as Bar, Culinary, Dining, and Housekeeping.
The training combines:
- Theoretical instruction aligned with global standards
- Practical workshops in real-life settings
- Roleplay scenarios to simulate the onboard environment
- Industry expert guidance for hands-on coaching
Duration ranges from 6 to 20 days, depending on the chosen department. Training is conducted at official centres in Cape Town (Culinary) and Durban (Housekeeping, Bar & Dining).
Ideal Candidate

- Physically fit and able to work on your feet for long hours

Role Responsibility

Bar Department
- Preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
- Inventory and stock management
- Ensuring cleanliness and hygiene at the bar
- Providing friendly, efficient guest service
Dining Services
- Setting up and maintaining dining areas
- Serving meals and beverages with professional etiquette
- Ensuring guest satisfaction and responding to requests
- Supporting the restaurant team during peak service hours
Housekeeping
- Cleaning and tidying guest cabins and public areas
- Replenishing guest amenities
- Maintaining hygiene, safety, and comfort standards

Culinary Department
