Graduates will be placed within key departments including Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Human Resources, and Learning & Development, where they’ll gain valuable workplace experience and mentorship under the guidance of seasoned professionals.


Job Description

The Clicks UPD Graduate Internship Programme 2025 offers a 12-month full-time internship aimed at exposing graduates to real-world work experience in their chosen fields. Interns will be placed in the Roodepoort (Lea Glen) branch, Johannesburg, and will work closely with departmental managers to support daily operations and strategic goals.

Interns will:

  • Assist in department-specific projects and operational tasks
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvement
  • Learn and adopt industry-standard systems and procedures
  • Liaise with various departments for interdependent tasks
  • Prepare reports, documentation, and presentations when required
  • Gain exposure to performance tracking and administrative procedures

This is a highly structured programme focused on developing the candidate’s capabilities in line with Clicks Group’s values of integrity, customer-centricity, and high performance.


Ideal Candidate

UPD is looking for high-potential graduates who are motivated to build careers in the pharmaceutical distribution, operations, and corporate support sectors. The ideal candidate should:

  • Be a South African citizen aged between 18–35 years
  • Be unemployed at the time of application
  • Hold a completed tertiary qualification (Degree or Diploma) in the listed fields
  • Have no prior full-time work experience
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be analytical, self-driven, and results-oriented
  • Have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Be willing to learn, ask questions, and grow professionally

Role Responsibility

Depending on the department, interns will take on the following responsibilities:

Operations & Supply Chain Intern

  • Support with warehouse planning, stock tracking, and dispatch operations
  • Assist in identifying process bottlenecks and helping streamline logistics
  • Participate in audits and inventory management processes
  • Learn about distribution networks and customer service levels

Finance Intern

  • Assist in data entry, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Support invoice processing and expense tracking
  • Gain insight into budgeting and financial control systems

Human Resources Intern

  • Support recruitment administration, onboarding, and HR queries
  • Assist in maintaining accurate HR records and documentation
  • Help coordinate wellness and employee engagement initiatives

Learning & Development / Training Intern

  • Assist with the coordination and scheduling of training sessions
  • Support training material development and learner tracking
  • Engage in skills audit reporting and training needs analysis

Each role is designed to give the graduate exposure to practical industry operations and to foster a clear understanding of logistics, HR, finance, and learning development within the healthcare supply chain.
