Elangeni TVET College invites unemployed South African graduates to apply for its 24-month Graduate Internship Programme for 2025. This structured programme aims to provide workplace exposure and professional development for young graduates who have completed their studies but have not yet acquired practical work experience.

The internship is designed to equip participants with hands-on experience, essential workplace skills, and knowledge of public administration systems, ultimately increasing their employability in the public education sector, government, and private industries.

Job Description
The Elangeni TVET College Graduate Internship Programme provides a comprehensive learning opportunity where interns will be assigned to various administrative and operational departments within the college. Under the guidance of experienced staff, interns will contribute to the college’s daily functions while applying their academic knowledge in real-world settings.

This internship allows graduates to strengthen their professional abilities, build their CVs, and gain invaluable exposure to government processes, compliance requirements, and service delivery operations in higher education institutions.

Ideal Candidate
The internship targets unemployed graduates who meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must be currently unemployed
  • Must have completed Matric (Grade 12 Certificate)
  • Must have completed a relevant qualification or degree (field of study may depend on the department assigned to)
  • Must possess certified qualifications and academic records
  • Must be committed to full-time participation for the entire duration of the internship
  • Must submit a fully completed application with all required documentation

This internship is ideal for motivated individuals looking to gain professional skills and exposure in the public education and administration sector.

Role Responsibility
During the internship period, selected graduates will be assigned specific administrative duties and support functions to strengthen their practical knowledge and work-readiness.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with administrative tasks in academic departments, human resources, finance, supply chain management, student support services, and other functional areas
  • Capturing, maintaining, and managing records, documents, and data accurately
  • Supporting student registration, academic administration, and examination coordination
  • Assisting in filing, archiving, and documentation processes
  • Participating in departmental meetings, planning sessions, and staff briefings
  • Learning institutional governance structures, compliance processes, and policy implementation
  • Supporting college projects, events, and community outreach initiatives
  • Providing professional assistance to college staff, management, and students where needed
