Job Description
The Traffic Monitor will be responsible for monitoring and controlling traffic flow, conducting patrols, educating the public on road safety, and reporting incidents. This role requires excellent situational awareness, the ability to work under pressure, and a deep understanding of traffic laws and municipal by-laws.
Duties include:
- Patrolling designated areas to observe and monitor traffic movement

Role Responsibility
In this role, the Traffic Monitor will be expected to:

Qualifications and Requirements
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Senior Certificate)
- NQF Level 5 in Basic Traffic Training
- Licensing and Proficiency:
- Valid Code EB Driver’s License
- Firearm proficiency certificate (advantageous for enforcement functions)
- Other Requirements:
- No criminal record (verified during background check)
- At least 2–5 years of relevant experience in traffic, security, or public safety environments
Applicants with additional training in community policing, crowd control, or municipal law enforcement procedures will be highly considered.
Salary
- Annual Remuneration: R307,066.00 per annum (Level 9)
- Salary excludes applicable government benefits such as pension fund contributions, medical aid, and uniform allowance as per municipal policy.
