Key Responsibilities:
- Forecasting Stock and Sales:
- Develop precise sales forecasts to determine optimal stock levels, maximizing revenue and gross profit for the assigned categories.
- Trade Optimization:
- Continuously identify opportunities and risks within the current execution of planned stock and sales forecasts. Develop and implement corrective actions to maintain the forecasted sales trajectory.
- Merchandise Process:
- Prepare and present meaningful proposals for the relevant portfolio based on product performance data analysis, market research, industry best practices, and innovation. Ensure customers are offered a quality, fashionable, and contemporary homeware assortment at value pricing to drive sales and business profit.
- Reporting & Analysis:
- Extract and analyze reports to provide insightful commentary under the supervision of the Senior Planner. These insights will aid in day-to-day operations and Merchandise Review Processes, contributing to the seasonal merchandise strategy.
- Administration:
- Execute various administrative tasks to ensure the efficient functioning of the Planning department and the execution of the business strategy.
Educational Requirements:
- Relevant Degree or Diploma (e.g., Bachelor of Commerce in Finance, Supply Chain & Logistics, Retail Business Management, or Economics).
Experience:
- 2 – 4 years of planning experience in Retail.
- 1 – 2 years of experience as a Junior Planner.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong business acumen and numerical skills.
- In-depth retail knowledge, particularly in stock flow management and sales forecasting.
- Experience with planning and replenishment systems.
- Understanding of demand and fulfilment principles.
- Proficiency in a demand and fulfilment tool.
