Job Description:

FlySafair is seeking experienced and dedicated First Officers to join its Flight Deck Crew and licensed Flight Attendants to enhance its in-flight experience team. Successful candidates will be placed in operational bases with ongoing opportunities for professional growth and development.

First Officer Responsibilities Include:

Executing flight operations with strict compliance to aviation regulations
Performing comprehensive pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight checks
Monitoring aircraft systems and flight path for operational efficiency
Assisting in maintaining a high safety culture and professional cockpit environment
Collaborating with the Captain on route planning, fuel, and alternate airport decisions
Assuming command if the Captain is incapacitated
Submitting detailed flight reports and safety documentation as required
Keeping up to date with SACAA, ICAO, and company-specific manuals and operational guidelines

Flight Attendant Responsibilities Include:

Delivering high-level in-flight customer service
Ensuring compliance with all safety protocols throughout each flight
Assisting passengers during boarding, cruising, and disembarking
Managing in-flight emergencies calmly and professionally
Demonstrating safety procedures and equipment usage
Performing administrative tasks, including safety and incident reports
Representing the FlySafair brand with professionalism and friendliness

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate for the First Officer role is a licensed commercial pilot with multi-crew, multi-turbine jet experience who thrives under pressure, shows exemplary leadership, and is committed to flight safety.

For the Flight Attendant role, FlySafair is looking for energetic, customer-service-oriented individuals who remain composed in emergency situations and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.

First Officer Minimum Requirements:

Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
SACAA Commercial Pilot License (CPL) – Essential
SACAA Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) – Preferred
SACAA Class 1 Medical Certificate
Boeing type rating (advantageous)
A minimum of 1500 flight hours with at least 500 hours on Multi-Turbine aircraft
Multi-crew experience – Essential
No existing medical conditions
Valid RSA Passport and SA Citizenship
Willing to sign a training bond
Clean criminal record
Own transport and valid RSA Driver’s License
Strong knowledge of SACAA and ICAO regulations
Understanding of Doc 8186 and ATPL-related licensing content
Willingness to work shifts and irregular hours

Flight Attendant Minimum Requirements:

Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
Valid SACAA Cabin Crew License – Non-negotiable
Avmed DD50 Medical Certificate
Valid Dangerous Goods, Ditching, and Firefighting Certificates
Level 4 English proficiency
Medically fit and capable of swimming
Valid SA Driver’s License and own transport – Non-negotiable
Neat appearance with no visible tattoos (as per uniform guidelines)
Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
Willing to work under pressure with high attention to detail

Role Responsibility:

Flight Attendant Responsibilities Include:

Conducting safety checks and ensuring all safety equipment is functional
Attending briefings and following instructions from the Captain and senior crew
Handling difficult passengers and resolving service-related concerns professionally
Ensuring the cabin is clean, secure, and compliant with airline regulations
Promoting in-flight products and services as required
