Job Description:
The Health and Safety Management Internship at AfriSam focuses on developing hands-on knowledge and skills required to promote safety compliance across operations. Interns will work under the guidance of experienced professionals, participating in safety audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations at various AfriSam sites in Mpumalanga.
Interns will be involved in:
- Supporting the implementation of health and safety systems and procedures
- Assisting with hazard identification and risk control planning
- Monitoring safety compliance and behaviour-based safety practices
- Participating in toolbox talks, training sessions, and emergency drills
- Contributing to internal safety reports, registers, and documentation
- Enhancing awareness of SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) standards
Ideal Candidate:

Minimum Requirements:
- National Diploma or Degree in Health and Safety Management
- Excellent academic track record
- Strong behavioural standards (reliability, responsibility, professionalism)
- South African citizenship
Preference Will Be Given To:
- Historically Disadvantaged South Africans (HDSA)
- Female candidates committed to building careers in the health and safety sector
