Position Details

Key Responsibilities

As an HR Officer, you will:

  • Communicate with and assist stores on HR-related queries.
  • Implement and enhance HR systems and procedures.
  • Ensure the interpretation, updating, and implementation of organizational policies and agreements.
  • Provide solutions to mitigate risks through management reporting and benchmarking.
  • Facilitate training and development at store levels.
  • Execute Individual Performance Management (IPM).
  • Offer day-to-day HR and Industrial Relations (IR) advice to managers, directors, and employees.
  • Chair disciplinary hearings and represent the company at CCMA proceedings (e.g., conciliation, arbitration).
  • Address internal grievances, conduct counseling, and evaluate and train staff.
  • Oversee incapacity investigations (e.g., poor performance, ill health) and facilitate retrenchment procedures.
  • Draft or review agreements related to employee and union matters.
  • Manage strike attendances and settlements when necessary.

Requirements

To qualify, you need:

  • A qualification in Human Resource Management.
  • Solid knowledge of labor and employment laws (e.g., LRA, BCEA, OHSA).
  • 3–5 years of HR/IR generalist experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel occasionally.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in Tsonga and Venda (advantageous).
  • The ability to negotiate, handle conflicts, and maintain confidentiality.
