This programme is open to unemployed youth interested in trades such as electrician, fitter and turner, boilermaker, and plumber/carpenter.

About the Programme:
Through this learnership, RCL Foods Sugar Division in Komatipoort invites ambitious young people to gain theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience. Participants will develop their skills in technical roles and receive a foundation for long-term career growth.
Available Trades:
- Electrician: Training in electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance.
- Fitter and Turner: Skills in fitting, assembly, and machine maintenance.
- Boilermaker: Training in creating and maintaining steel structures.
- Plumber/Carpenter: Develop both plumbing and carpentry expertise.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Education: Grade 12 with at least an N3 Qualification or NCV Level 4; N4 is an advantage.
Programme Structure:
- Institutional Training: 20 weeks at the Industrial Training Centre in Mount Edgecombe, with a focus on foundational theory and safety.
- Practical Exposure: 29 weeks in the factory, working alongside skilled mentors.
- Annual Phase Tests: Mini Trade Tests each year to assess progress and ensure readiness for the next stage.
- Final Trade Test: Upon completing all phases, participants will take a Final Trade Test to earn a nationally recognized qualification.
