Job Description
The 12-month Human Capital Learnership Programme is structured to offer both classroom-based theoretical learning and hands-on workplace experience. The programme is aligned with national NQF Learnership standards and covers both foundational skills and practical business exposure within Sasol’s HR operations.
Theoretical Training Will Include:
- Communication and Computer Skills
- Business Accounting and Entrepreneurship
- Customer Service Fundamentals
- Business Operations and Maths Literacy
Practical Learning Experience Will Focus On:
- Providing general administrative support across departments
- Engaging in people management processes
- Assisting with HR data analytics and systems
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and staff movements
- Participating in employee relations, compensation, and benefits
This programme is designed to prepare learners for entry-level roles in Human Capital by equipping them with technical proficiency, business acumen, and workplace readiness.
Ideal Candidate
Sasol is looking for motivated, disciplined, and service-oriented individuals who show potential for long-term growth in the human resources space.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric / Grade 12 qualification
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field will be an added advantage
- South African citizen aged 18–35
- Currently unemployed
- Available for the full 12-month programme duration
- Willing to be based in Sandton, Secunda, or Sasolburg
Role Responsibility
The learnership includes active participation in daily HR operations, project support, and exposure to HR functions in a corporate setting.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Supporting recruitment and onboarding of new hires
- Assisting in employment contracts, data entry, and staff movement documentation
- Managing basic HR administration tasks (e.g., filing, reporting, document control)
- Helping implement performance, talent, and change management initiatives
- Learning about compliance processes within Employee Relations
- Understanding compensation and benefits principles and calculations
- Using data and analytics tools to create HR reports and decision-making dashboards
- Supporting organisational development and HR transformation initiatives
This experience will offer a 360-degree view of the Human Capital function within a Fortune Global 500 company.
