Job Description
The ETDP-SETA Internship Programme is designed to provide successful candidates with hands-on experience across a variety of academic and administrative functions. Interns will be placed in different departments at TUT’s Pretoria Campus, where they will support ongoing operational and strategic objectives.
The internship aims to address the challenge of graduate unemployment by offering practical exposure that complements academic qualifications. Interns will work under the guidance of seasoned professionals and receive structured mentorship throughout the two-year period.

This programme seeks young, driven, and disciplined individuals who have obtained a tertiary qualification from Tshwane University of Technology and who are passionate about learning, development, and administration.

Role Responsibility
Interns will be expected to carry out various duties, including but not limited to:
- Assisting with day-to-day administration tasks within the allocated department
- Supporting academic or faculty staff with research, reporting, and documentation
- Managing office resources and coordinating logistics for department activities
- Preparing and organizing files, digital documents, and data entries
- Participating in internal meetings and recording accurate minutes when required
- Contributing to continuous improvement by suggesting solutions to operational inefficiencies
- Ensuring that confidentiality and professionalism are upheld at all times

Position Summary

Whether placed in Human Resources, Financial Management, Labour Relations, or Counselling Services, interns will receive tailored support to grow into confident, skilled professionals.

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following:
- Be a graduate of Tshwane University of Technology (TUT)
- Hold a qualification in one of the following areas:
- Human Resource Management / Human Resource Development
- Labour Relations
- Office Management and Technology
- Administrative Information Management
- Financial Management
- Applied Social Sciences (with majors in Psychology or Counselling)
- Be a South African citizen or permanent resident
- Be unemployed at the time of application
- Not have previously participated in any internship funded by a SETA or DHET
- Be between the ages of 18 and 34
- Possess a valid police clearance certificate or submit an affidavit as proof of good conduct
