Job Description
UNISA’s Internship Programme 2025 will run for a 12-month period, starting on 01 July 2025, and is tailored to provide workplace exposure and mentoring to recent graduates with qualifications at NQF level 6 or higher. Interns will be placed in departments aligned with their field of study and will assist with critical support functions and services within the institution.
The internship roles will span the following key areas:
- Student Administration
- Technology Enhanced Services
- Counselling and Psychology
Interns will work under supervision, performing tasks that include:
- Administrative support and office workflow management
- Client engagement and communication
- Student records management and data processing
- Support in tech-based education platforms and systems
- Basic psychological support services (where applicable)
- Participation in departmental meetings and project-related tasks
- General document preparation, filing, and reporting

Role Responsibility
The internship responsibilities will vary depending on the department. Key functions across the three internship categories include:
For Student Administration Interns (Ref: GPV/03/2025):
- Support with document management and filing systems
- Assist with compiling student records and verifying data
- Respond to student queries and manage telephonic or email communication
- Provide general support to student registration and administration teams
For Counselling & Psychology Interns (Ref: GPR/02/2025):
- Assist in providing basic psychological support under supervision
- Maintain confidential case files and reports
- Coordinate with student support services
- Support mental wellness initiatives and events
For Technology Enhanced Services Interns (Ref: GPT/08/2025):
