Job Description

The UNISA Internship Programme 2025 includes several structured internships across departments, where selected interns will:

Internship roles are based at UNISA’s Muckleneuk Campus in Pretoria and focus primarily on the following areas: journalism, multimedia, broadcasting, graphic design, and social media.

This internship programme is for you if:

  • You are a South African citizen
  • You are unemployed
  • You have completed a UNISA qualification (minimum NQF Level 6)
  • You are under 35 years of age
  • You have no prior formal work experience in your field
  • You have not been part of any internship at UNISA or elsewhere before

1. Journalism Internship (Ref: URP/07/2025)

Department: UNISA Radio – Communication Division
Minimum Qualification:

  • National Diploma in Public Relations, OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communication or Marketing
    Location: Pretoria

2. Broadcast Assistant Internship (Ref: URP/03/2025)

Department: UNISA Radio – Communication Division
Minimum Qualification:

  • National Diploma or Bachelor’s in Multimedia, OR
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering

3. Web Graphic Design Internship (Ref: WGD/01/2025)

  • Portfolio showcasing design work (must be attached to CV)
    Skills:
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g. Adobe Suite)
